Live in carer
Up to £ per day
If you’re passionate about providing the very best care, we think there’s nowhere better to work than The Good Care Group Scotland. Working as a Professional Live-in Carer you’ll make a genuine difference to the lives of the people you support. You’ll have the time to care, tailoring your support to your clients’ needs and wishes, enabling them to live in the place they love most - their own home. This isn’t just work. It’s life changing work.
You might have professional experience as a support worker, or as a care assistant in a residential or domiciliary care setting. Or you might already be an experienced live-in carer looking for a new way to maximise your earning potential. Whatever your level of professional experience, we would love to hear from you. Please note you must already have the right to work in the UK. We cannot assist with any sponsorship or visa requests – including those applying for a health and social care visa or those with a skilled worker visa.
We believe in maintaining a healthy balance between live-in care and your personal life. That’s why we have introduced a wider range of rota patterns to give our carers more control over the way they work. Whether that’s working 8 - 12 weeks with a lower needs client (working on average 6 - 8 hours per day) or supporting our more complex clients over 2 - 6 weeks (working on average 10 - 12 hours per day).
Why we think there’s nowhere better:
1. A choice of work patterns from 2 - 12 weeks, so you can choose the option that works best for you (working either 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours on average per day)
2. Our Scotland team is based in Newbridge on the outskirts of Edinburgh. We have a great team here which consists of care managers, an office manager and a rapid response carer to name a few
3. We’re rated as ‘Excellent’ for care and support by the Care Inspectorate, ‘Very good’ for recruitment and staffing and ‘Very good’ for management and leadership
4. We provide market-leading support and training to our professional live-in carers, with local care managers who know their carers and their clients extremely well
5. All UK travel expenses covered whilst in placement
6. We aim to place you with a client within a 50 mile radius of your home (if UK based) to avoid travel disrupting your time off
7. Free PVG, plus we’ll cover the cost of your SSSC registration
8. Pay based on your care experience, pension & bank holiday enhancements and an annual pay review
9. Funded Blue Light Card - giving you access to discounts
10. Ongoing training and development opportunities, including an SVQ2 in health and social care. We cover the cost of the course and pay for the time spent completing it. No other care providers in Scotland do this. You will be paid £10.42 per hour, for one hour each week up to 24 weeks
11. Face to face induction training (with hotel accommodation and travel expenses included)
12. Peer to peer support as part of our buddy scheme
