Job Overview
To undertake catering duties to a high standard of cleanliness and safe practices in the distribution centre / Kitchen and associated areas. To assist with basic food preparation as and when required, compliance with hygiene and HACCP policies. Support and development of staff as required at ward level as well as ensuring the standards of the distribution centre.
Main Duties of the Job
* Allocate work, arrange duty rotas and cover for annual leave and sickness.
* Assist in all staff training and ensure compliance with all mandatory training for all staff within the catering department.
* Be responsible for ensuring correct cleaning methods are adhered to and that relevant work schedules are on display and staff are completing all relevant paperwork and tasks.
* Pick and pack food transport boxes.
* Ensure all temperature monitoring systems are up to date and recorded.
* Order and receive stock - quality control of all products.
* Report damaged or ineffective machinery in a timely manner.
* Trained or training to intermediate food hygiene level.
* Conduct weekly ward visits to ensure all kitchen equipment is fully functional and to monitor food services and support staff with any questions around food services.
* Manage stock takes and supplier systems.
* Deal with customer complaints or issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
* Report to the Assistant Facilities / Catering Manager.
