Job Title: Clinical Lead
Location: Lowestoft
Salary: £50,000 per year
Reports to: Home Manager
Purpose of the Role
As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and governance in the care home. Working as part of a strong management team, you will collaborate closely with our nurses and carers to provide consistent service delivery that meets the needs of our residents. Your focus will be on ensuring the best nursing and clinical care provisions, actively contributing to clinical delivery and supervising staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement effective clinical governance policies and NICE guidelines in collaboration with the Home Manager, ensuring adherence to NMC guidelines and other regulatory bodies.
• Support and mentor nurses and carers, providing coaching and training on up-to-date clinical practices, including medication administration, wound care, and regular health assessments of residents.
• Ensure that care records for all residents are maintained and that care plans reflect their needs in line with regulatory requirements and professional best practices.
• Monitor and review clinical standards across the care home, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Work collaboratively with the Home Manager and wider management team to foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes staff engagement, learning, and development.
• Act as a role model to nurses and carers, demonstrating good clinical practice and providing leadership and guidance as needed.
Skills and Experience
• A pleasant personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience.
• Strong team player with effective coaching and mentoring skills.
• Excellent clinical skills with a focus on person-centred care.
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritising tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused approach.
• Proficient IT skills, with experience in maintaining electronic records and databases.
