Matron – Children & Obstetric Theatres and Children’s Surgery
Barts Health are delighted to offer the opportunity to work within the Children’s Division of the Royal London Hospital as Matron for Children’s and Obstetric Theatres and surgery. Working within our World Class Children’s hospital, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of our world renowned surgical and theatre departments, including our new high dependency step down area and our large day care unit.

The post holder will have overall accountability for the day-to-day management of the nursing/midwifery service across all the departments they are responsible for. The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making. They will work as a highly specialised member of the interprofessional team to ensure that the needs of the patient are always met, and that staffing is at an appropriate level to meet patient needs. They will be accessible and visible to staff, patients and visitors, providing professional and clinical leadership within Children and Young People’s Services at RLH. This includes Children’s and Obstetric Theatres, Children’s Surgery, Children’s Recovery, Children’s Pre-operative Assessment Unit, Children’s Day care Ward 6B and 7F ward including the Monitored Bay.
