Job summary Induction of Labour Quality Improvement Midwife Fixed Term - 6 Months Cross Site Working The post holder will be a champion for improvements within the induction of labour process and the expectation is that the post holder will be responsible for promoting good quality midwifery/ obstetric led interventions which aim to reduce delays and improves patient satisfaction. Main duties of the job Lead on a quality improvement (QI) initiative aimed at piloting the introduction of oral misoprostol for induction of labour and understanding women's experience of its use. Design, complete and report on the project using recognised QI tools and methodologies. Create a new guideline/SOP to describe and support the safe use of misoprostol during the induction of labour process. Organise and provide resources and sessions for staff training. Ensure that service users are included in the co-production of the induction service, and patient information, so that they can confidently make choices about their care. Evaluate patient experience of induction of labour by use of the feedback tools Feedback to the Maternity Transformation group/Induction of Labour steering group and the LMNS Quality and Performance committee about project progress monthly. Work collaboratively with the Maternity Senior Leadership team and the wider MDT to ensure that safe care and excellent patient experience is at the heart of the induction service.
