Expert Lead Cardiac Physiologist in Adult Congenital Heart Disease
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individual to join the department.
The applicant must currently be working as an expert independent clinical practitioner who provides clinical expertise at an expert specialist level. Candidates will be required to assist the departmental management team in providing strategic management leadership. Applicants must have the ability to work under pressure and prioritize their own workload, as well as work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality diagnostic service and educational support at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
This position offers excellent developmental opportunities and requires the individual to be a positive driver for change within cardiac diagnostic services at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide leadership and development for all practitioners in the Clinical physiology department within the community Diagnostic Centre.
2. As an expert in the field, provide advice to external institutions, including primary care and all professional bodies within Cardiology.
3. Exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems and making decisions that affect own areas of work, recognizing when there is a need to refer problems to Senior Management or Consultant staff.
4. Independently collate complex clinical information from multiple sources to determine optimal procedure methodology.
5. Independently select, set up & operate complex medical equipment as indicated for each procedure.
6. Independently obtain and analyze complex data, perform complex calculations, determine interpretation and independently compile accurate written complex technical reports for case notes.
7. Communicate independent interpretations of complex technical & physiological data to guide physicians throughout high-risk provocative procedures (e.g., during complex device implantation, primary coronary angioplasty, cardiac imaging procedures).
8. Regularly supervise individuals working/observing in the clinical environment, including visitors from other trusts and organizations.

* IBHRE/BHRS Rhythm management qualification
* At least 2 years' experience of managing a cardiology department or an area of cardiology in a large tertiary centre including organizational and personal management
