Sefton Virtual School: Virtual School Headteacher About Us Sefton Virtual School works with schools, Social Care teams, carers and a range of services to help improve the educational experiences and outcomes of the children and young people that we serve. The Virtual School supports and challenges service providers to ensure that the most vulnerable children and young people are prioritised within all education services. We are looking for a leader with infectious passion, vision, commitment and experience to lead our committed and ambitious team to further improve the experience and outcomes in education of our cared for children, previously cared for children and children with a social worker. About You As the Headteacher of the Virtual School, you will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders to lead, support, challenge and coproduce with schools and partners to secure the best possible educational outcomes for children and young people in our care. You will be confident in your ability to strategically influence the delivery of services for children with a social worker, previously cared for children and those with kinship carers. You will have the knowledge and skills to develop and influence local authority policies and practice in an innovative and research informed way. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated effective leadership in education and has a passion for recognising and removing the barriers that children in our services often face. The successful post holder will have experience of supporting vulnerable children in educational settings, and those out of education, and will be able to demonstrate the impact of their leadership. They will understand social care and educational legislation and will use their knowledge, initiative and imagination to develop services and resources that enable professionals and carers to listen to children, cooperate with each other and coproduce services that improve the lived experience and achievements of our most challenged children.
