A former country estate, The Langley is a luxury hotel and spa that had opened in early 2019, in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside. As sister hotel to The Wellesley Knightsbridge, Londons finest boutique-grand hotel, it offers the same level of luxury and exclusivity but with its own unique character and setting.
The hotels boutique selection of 41 exquisite rooms and suites were designed by Dennis Irvine Studio with the height of sophistication and refinement, alongside a collection of exclusive dining experiences, including a signature restaurant with an acclaimed chef at the helm and an intimate bar specializing in the finest cognacs and cigars.
Job Role
We are currently recruiting for aDuty Managerto join our Front of House Team on this exciting journey. The main responsibilities of theDuty Managerare to ensure that our guests are provided with proficient and professional service throughout while meeting and exceeding the guests expectations and to ensure that the daily operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
General duties will include:
* Making daily tours of hotel, taking appropriate action when areas require attention
* Ensure that any emergency situations are dealt with in accordance of company procedures
* Assist with Reception and Front Office Duties
* Overseeing the day-to-day activities at the front desk, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries are handled efficiently
* Having a full and comprehensive working knowledge of the hotel
* Enforcing hotel policies and procedures
* Overseeing the use of technology/IT systems
* Liaise with other hotel departments to fulfil special guest requests and seamlessly coordinate services
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven background within a luxury hospitality environment
* Previous experience of working as a Duty Manager in a 5* Hotel
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry (ESSENTIAL)
* Previous experience using standard IT/software applications including Opera, MARSHA, Fourth, telephone systems (ESSENTIAL)
* Previous experience in Marriot standards and procedures (ESSENTIAL)
* Excellent written and verbal English (ESSENTIAL)
* Operational knowledge of reservation procedures and related systems
* Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
* An eye for details and welcoming personality
* Flexibility with rotating shift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays
* Flexibility to cover night shifts occasionally as sometimes required by the business needs.
* Excellent time management skills and be able to multi-task during busy periods
* The ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff and management and paying close attention to detail
* The ability to comply with all statutory and company regulations relating to Health & Safety, Hygiene, conduct of employees, fire emergency procedures, security of premises and property
