JD ForkTrucks, now part of the Giraffe Group, are recruiting for the role of a Material Handling Engineer / Mechanic. The successful candidate will join our team to help us continue the growth of our customer base and provide additional support to our service operations.

The Impact you will have:
1. Following training, complete the service and maintenance of diesel, LPG and electrical materials handling equipment, fault finding, planned preventative maintenance and pre delivery inspection of forklift trucks.
2. Ensuring customer relationships are maintained and developed through high standards of service.
3. Ensuring all parts required to complete the job are ordered correctly to ensure you can complete the required tasks.
4. Ensure your Company van is always stocked with appropriate parts, safe to drive and kept to our company standards.
What will help you to excel in this role:
1. Full clean UK Driving Licence
2. Be self-driven and motivated to be part of a team that strives to be the best within its sector.
3. The ability to work independently and under pressure, manage and prioritise own workload.
4. The confidence to use our customer front-facing software to deliver an effective and professional service.
5. Commitment and ability to complete all aspects of a mechanical training programme.
6. Relevant work experience within either a workshop or field-based role (i.e., automotive mechanic, customer-facing and engineering environments)
7. Basic experience working on and/or knowledge of similar equipment i.e., cars, forklifts, plant equipment, cleaning machines, materials handling equipment, powered access, HGV’s or similar.
8. Basic understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
