Position Overview The team is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Senior Software Engineers to join the Energy division. This role involves the design, development, and implementation of PLC-based control and SCADA systems, primarily for renewable power generation and storage projects. You will be involved in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from system upgrades and modifications to new builds. This position requires proven experience in control automation, working across various technology platforms, and managing project deliverables effectively. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement control systems for PLC and SCADA/DCS. Produce technical documentation, including Function Design Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, and Test Specifications. Develop software using IEC61131 standards (ladder, function block diagram, sequential function chart, and structured text). Perform internal and customer Factory Acceptance Tests. Lead small projects or sub-teams within larger projects. Review work produced by others and ensure adherence to QA procedures. Travel and work on-site when required. Essential Skills and Experience At least 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal, Rockwell ControlLogix, or Schneider EcoStruxure. Advanced SCADA configuration skills with tools like Siemens WinCC, COPA-DATA Zenon, or Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE. Strong understanding of communication protocols (e.g., Profibus/Profinet, Modbus, IEC 61850). Familiarity with virtualisation (VMWare/HyperV) and Windows Server configuration. Proven ability to manage the full project lifecycle, including commissioning and testing. Full UK driving license. Desirable Skills Experience with renewable power generation control systems. Knowledge of safety systems (IEC 61508/61511) and cybersecurity (IEC 62443). Experience with simulation software like SIMIT, PICS, or WinMOD.
