Join our Children’s Social Services Team: Make a Difference Every Day!
The successful candidate will be able to understand and promote the effective management of risk and be able to support conferences to consider ways of building resilience and creating change to reduce risk. As part of the unit, you will be working alongside the IROs, Child Protection Chair, LADO, and the Fostering IRO who make up the team.
You will need to have the ability to effectively chair and possess interpersonal skills that promote engagement with professionals, parents, and young people. You will have experience of previously working in a statutory setting and applying thresholds. You will have the confidence to offer challenges where appropriate and be able to support robust planning. You will be able to analyze and provide good and clear written reports and equally have good oral presentation skills.
What we need from you
* You will hold a professionally recognized social work qualification.
* You must have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a statutory child care setting.
* You must be able to chair formal meetings and demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relating to Child Protection and Children In Care.
* You will demonstrate an ability to critically analyze information, balance opposing views and interests whilst maintaining a child focus.
* You will demonstrate an ability to communicate with children and young people and their parents and have good interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Although not essential, you may have previous management/supervisory experience in a statutory child care setting.
* Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
