As the Lead Process Engineer, you will lead the Process engineering team and ensure that all water treatment and process engineering elements of our capital delivery projects are designed, installed, and commissioned in line with relevant legislation and best practices. Reporting to the Lead Delivery Engineer, you will ensure compliance with company engineering standards and specifications while aligning engineering outputs with Asset, Regulatory, Water Quality, and Operational strategies.
This role involves evaluating and selecting process options during project feasibility and design, integrating efficiencies and innovations, and maintaining quality and CDM 2015 compliance.
You will provide technical solutions and guidance on complex capital projects and ensure deliverables meet operational and maintenance strategies. While the role allows flexible working, you will need to travel across South East Water's supply areas as part of project scoping, construction, and review phases.

What will you be accountable for?
* Develop and appraise process solutions and designs for capital delivery projects.
* Produce technical deliverables, including Scope Documents, Design Drawings, and CDM Documents.
* Set process strategy and guidance for capital delivery projects.
* Evaluate whole life cost and TOTEX costings for process solutions.
* Ensure deliverables align with business operational and maintenance strategies.
* Lead the Process Engineering team and coordinate with external specialists as required.
* Promote understanding of process business needs across South East Water staff and contractors.
* Mentor Graduate and Process Engineers, promoting Chartership and professional growth.
* Optimise operation of new and existing assets, integrating innovative processes and equipment.
* Advise on standards and approaches to delivery while developing process and asset performance guarantees.
* Develop risk-assessed, value-driven solutions that align with business objectives.
What do you bring to the role?
Essential:
* Chemical engineering or scientific-based degree, or equivalent training with substantial industry experience.
* Extensive knowledge of process engineering-specific standards and practices.
* Strong technical expertise with sound judgment in complex situations.
* Detailed knowledge of treated water process environments or similar industrial settings.
* Excellent time and people management skills.
* Solid understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and their application to projects.
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer status with a reputation for technical excellence.
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and their application.
* Knowledge of other utilities and water treatment technologies.
