Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) - Water Industry
Location: Reading & surrounding areas
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Car/Allowance + 25 Days Holiday
42 hours per week | Full-time, Permanent
J3A Recruitment are working with a rapidly growing MEICA engineering organisation that has secured a strong pipeline of work across Thames Water sites.
They're now looking to bring in an experienced Project Manager with a mechanical background to help drive ongoing projects forward in the Reading and South East area.
What you'll be doing as Project Manager:
1. Managing multiple water-related projects at any one time (values ranging from £5k-£300k)
2. Overseeing works across clean and dirty water sites, including pumping stations and general mechanical installations and refurbishments
3. Taking ownership of quotations, fabrication drawings, RAMS, and project delivery
4. Carrying out site surveys, liaising with clients, and leading project teams to successful completion
The suitable Project Manager will bring:
1. HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
2. Proven experience in the water industry - ideally with Thames Water
3. Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously
4. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication processes
5. Capable of writing method statements and risk assessments
6. Electrical knowledge is beneficial, but not essential
7. SMSTS isn't essential but highly beneficial
