Countryside Manager - Arlington, Barnstaple Summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY We have a temporary opportunity for a Countryside Manager to lead our countryside team at Arlington Court and help deliver our vision for people and nature. This fixed term opportunity occurs at a pivotal period for Arlington which is undergoing complex change in order to respond to the biodiversity and climate crisis and the needs of people. The site is part of a DEFRA Landscape Recovery Scheme and several large and complex projects, which are all at various stages, from detailed feasibility to delivery. You will take a leading role in a beautiful part of the country, renowned for its wildlife. You will work as part of the portfolio’s leadership team alongside senior property colleagues and project managers, leading and inspiring your team, as well as our many portfolio staff and volunteers together with wider collaborators and partner organisations, in how they can play their part in restoring a beautiful, healthy and natural environment. Leading your countryside team and working closely with the Property Operations Manager and several Project Managers you will set and deliver plans to protect and enhance the conservation of our properties. You will be responsible for planning and the operational day-to-day delivery for land, outdoors and nature on our properties including some ambitious and transformational projects as part of being a Nature Accellerator. You will work alongside key staff from other properties and professional advisors across the region to help shape and deliver our exciting nature conservation strategy to 2025 and beyond. You will work with a wide variety of external collaborators in delivering your work and you will enable a broad range of visitors to have outstanding and inspirational experiences through the quality of our welcome and the effectiveness of our conservation work. You will be able to multi-task and juggle lots of competing priorities during this complex period of change and delegate effectively.
