Advanced Pharmacist - Nutrition
NHS AfC: Band 8a
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, providing a wide range of general and specialist clinical services.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to work alongside our Consultant Pharmacist in Nutrition as part of the nutrition support team across our Churchill and John Radcliffe hospital sites. This role entails leading on the pharmaceutical aspects of adult clinical nutrition for both inpatients and patients requiring nutrition at home.
Applicants will have completed a post-graduate diploma and be able to demonstrate solid foundation level practice with experience of adult parenteral nutrition.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Practice Role:
* Maintain clinical expertise and develop areas of interest in accordance with Trust and Pharmacy strategies.
* Provide a ward-based clinical pharmacy service according to Trust agreed standards.
* Participate in daily inpatient PN ward rounds across hospital sites.
* Analyze drug and patient specific information related to clinical nutrition.
* Attend and support nutrition MDT meetings for inpatients and outpatients.
Person specification
Educational and experience
* Qualified to masters degree level (4 year MPharm) or equivalent
* Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, or equivalent experience
* Experience of working as a clinical pharmacist at a high level in a variety of clinical areas
* Experience of working as a clinical pharmacist in relevant clinical area
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
