The role
As a High Rise Fire/Tactical Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. To deliver and accurately evidence training in the tactical use of Turntable Ladders to effectively fight, spreading high rise fires.
1. Day-to-day, you’ll work in conjunction with the specialist trainers delivering driver and operator training of Turntable Ladders and supporting equipment.
2. Comply with LFB policy requirements in relation to being “Fit to Train.”
3. Assess learners, record results, provide feedback and guidance on performance, developing action plans as required
4. Comply with CPD requirements.
5. Communicate verbally and in written form ideas and concepts using language and style appropriate to the audience.
6. Take responsibility for ensuring own continuing professional development, identifying areas where skills and/or knowledge would be beneficial in relation the duties of the post
This role is an associate contract paying £27.20 per hour
Essential experience of the High Rise Fire / Tactical Trainer
7. Considerable occupational experience of all aspects of turntable ladder operations.
8. Existing turntable ladder instructor
Qualifications for the High Rise Fire / Tactical Trainer
9. Level 3 Teaching qualification (AET, PTTLS or equivalent), or willing to study towards.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
