Job Summary:
As a Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker at Cinox Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and companionship to our clients in their homes. You will assist with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment, fostering independence and enhancing the overall well-being of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed.
* Companionship: Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
* Meal Preparation: Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding, ensuring clients receive proper nutrition.
* Medication Support: Remind and assist clients with medication administration, following prescribed instructions.
* Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility, including moving around the home, transferring from bed to chair, and using mobility aids.
* Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
* Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping, and other errands, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical or mental condition to the Care Coordinator or Registered Manager.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports, in accordance with company policies.
* Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and enhance your caregiving skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Compassionate Nature: A genuine desire to provide care and companionship to individuals in need.
* Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
* Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Driving License: A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred but not essential.
* Education: A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent). NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not required.
* Background Checks: Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
