Community Psychiatric Nurse
Band 5
Job overview
The Mental Health Division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust comprises three directorates: Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People, and Specialist Services. More than 2,800 dedicated staff provide vital healthcare services for our patients in various settings, ranging from community to acute wards, covering a vast geographical area.
We’re investing heavily in our staff, facilities, and patient care. As we move into this new chapter, we need a strong, motivated, and compassionate workforce to reflect our core values of Honesty, Compassion, Trust, Respect, and Teamwork. There has never been a better time to join our growing team.
We have exciting opportunities across different specialties and services, with an emphasis on career development and progression. We want to help our staff reach their full potential and are committed to providing the support, skills, and development needed to succeed.
Main duties of the job
The Local Mental Health Teams provide mental health services for people aged 18 to 65 years across Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County, and Bassetlaw. There are eleven LMHTs, each of which includes the following specialist staff: Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Community Support Workers, Peer Support Workers, and Employment Specialists.
Our LMHTs bring together a variety of services, including Assertive Outreach, Community Rehabilitation, Community Assessment Treatment Services, City Recovery Service, Social Inclusion and Wellbeing, Community Occupational Therapy Service, and Medical Services.
We help patients and their families cope with periods of severe mental illness and assess, plan, and implement a personal path of recovery for each patient. We work with people who have a wide range of mental health difficulties. Some may require short-term intervention, and sometimes longer-term care plans will be put in place.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
Working for our organisation
#TeamNottsHC comprises over 11,000 dedicated colleagues who #MakeADifference every day. We deliver intellectual disability, mental health, community health, forensic, and offender healthcare services across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire. Our care is provided from over 200 sites, spanning community locations, acute settings, and secure environments, including prisons.
We are one of the largest mental health and community Trusts in the East Midlands and one of Nottinghamshire's biggest employers. We also host national and regional services, such as the National High Secure Deaf Service and the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.
The health and wellbeing of our colleagues is a top priority. We invest significantly in this through our in-house occupational health and staff counselling services, supported by a dedicated Health and Wellbeing team.
