What it’s like to work in a SEN school: Significantly smaller class sizes (typically a maximum of 10) High number of TA support within the classroom Tailor made facilities to suit the needs of the students Adapted and creative curriculum to suit the needs of students You will be working with students with interaction and communication difficulties, autism and other needs Staff teams are incredibly supportive Your main duties will include: Managing the classroom Planning and delivering lessons that are accessible for your students Supporting students of all abilities Monitoring student progress Communication with parents, staff and other professionals Report writing Previous teaching experience is essential. This role is suitable for a teacher who has worked in mainstream education and believes they possess the right personality traits to excel in a special school.
