The Opportunity
Are you a natural leader and motivator? An exciting opportunity has become available to join us as a Regional Operations Director here at Medivet.
Your strong commercial and leadership skills will be vital in this position as you work closely with our Practice Managers to drive strategic leadership, exceptional care and results across your region.
This role is 37.5 hours per week and you would be field based with frequent travel required covering Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. There may also be a requirement for you to take on new regions as and when the need arises.

Responsibilities
Financial Performance
* Lead the delivery of commercial performance versus budget through the development of strategic growth plans for each clinic within the region against established targets.
* Instil a culture of continuous improvement, leading the Practice Managers to implement best practices and local efficiencies to deliver financial performance and effective cost management.
* Identify under-performing practices and support the Practice Manager in the development and implementation of improvement plans to address and manage issues effectively.
* Take overall accountability to ensure the rota/payroll costs are managed effectively.
* Develop and drive plans that incorporate awareness of competitor activity which may impact the performance and development of the clinics in region.
* Work closely with DOD’s, Divisional Property Manager and the Acquisitions Team to own the local estate strategy in line with Medivet’s processes, including rebrands, closures & acquisitions.
Clients
* Role model and instil a culture of delivering exceptional care in all aspects of the client journey with high levels of client service across clinics.
* Work with the Practice Manager to ensure complaints are dealt with efficiently and effectively with support from the Divisional Veterinary Director or wider Clinical Operations team as required.
* Manage regions customer feedback measures such as reputation.com and NPS results working with the Practice Managers to address any issues.
* Work with the Practice Manager to implement local and regional marketing strategies in liaison with the Marketing team.
People
* Provide visible leadership and direction in the region role modelling Medivet behaviours and ways of working.
* Promote and build positive and respectful relationships to deliver exceptional care for colleagues delivering high levels of colleague engagement.
* Mentor and support Practice Managers to deliver the required performance in the clinics.
* Build a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration across the Practice Manager teams in the region, fostering a supportive network though regional meetings and 121’s.
* Act as an escalation point for the Practice Manager providing support, mentoring or training as required.
* Own the regions people plan, working with the People Team and Practice Managers to deliver high levels of recruitment, retention, engagement performance and change readiness.
* Develop regional succession plan by identifying and developing colleagues with talent who can fill key roles within Region/Division and support pipeline of clinical and management roles.
* Act as an escalation point for employee relations issues as required providing support within and across regions.
* Support as required in recruitment matters.
* Provide leadership and guidance to all Branch Partners in the Region, working in partnership to develop their practices.
* Identify future Branch Partner opportunities.
* Work with the Practice Manager to ensure the successful integration of new colleagues and practices into the region ensuring they feel welcomed into the Medivet community and have everything they need to be successful.
Governance and Compliance
* Ensure the region is fully compliant in respect of governing and regulating body requirements (RCVS, BVA, VMD) defined codes of conduct and practice standards.
* Support the Practice Manager in ensuring Medivet’s protocols, policies, procedures and SOP’s, are implemented, seeking support where required from the wider Clinical Operations or Support Centre teams.
* Support the Practice Manager in ensuring Health & Safety legislation and protocols are in place in the clinic, seeking support where required from relevant Support Centre teams.
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Ability to lead teams - influencing and motivating teams and individuals in the delivery of exceptional care to patients, clients, and colleagues.
* Focus on the delivery of high performance across clinics understanding exceptional care and how this improves the client experience.
* Analytical skills with the ability to measure and understand data making data driven decisions.
* An empathetic and respectful relationship builder with experience of partnering in a matrix structure and leading multiple remote teams.
* Excellent financial acumen with the ability to understand key financial performance indicators and measures required to deliver financial results.
* Either clinical experience in a management position and/or previous field leadership experience is essential.
* Able to demonstrate evidence of delivering continuous improvement.
* The ability to build short, medium and long term plans to support business goals with appropriate checkpoints and measures in place to chart progress.
* Ability to empower and delegate with appropriate control and support in place.
* Good IT skills particularly in Microsoft products.
