This is an exciting new position for a person interested in medical education to help develop and shape PACES education and training within the deanery. The PACES Fellow will be based at Frimley Park Hospital and will be expected to lead initiatives to improve trainee preparation and outcomes for the MRCP PACES examination, with a focus on supporting International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and addressing differential attainment. This role combines clinical responsibilities with educational leadership to develop, implement, and sustain innovative teaching strategies, including simulation-based learning and structured mentorship. The postholder will be expected to work alongside similar fellows within the Deanery with the aim to implement a programme that can be beneficial to all trainees wishing to sit MRCP PACES. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties: Participate in regular clinical rotations, contributing to patient care and supporting team activities. Engage in PACES preparation activities during clinical practice, including bedside teaching. Educational Duties: Formalise and deliver structured PACES teaching sessions, working with consultant faculty. Develop and run simulation-based teaching scenarios focusing on communication and consultation skills. Organise and oversee at least two mock PACES examinations annually, ensuring trainee participation and feedback integration. Provide targeted mentorship to IMG doctors, supporting their professional integration and examination preparation. Programme Development: Create a library of simulation scenarios for use in PACES preparation. Collaborate with supervisors and regional stakeholders to embed sustainable teaching practices into the educational framework of the Trust and the KSS Deanery. Leadership and Research: Conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness of PACES interventions, including participant feedback and pass rates. Collaborate on publications and presentations to share insights regionally and nationally.
