JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal/Lead Civil Structural Designer to join us in Reading - UK. This is an 11-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. The position is to support a major FEED/EPC Onshore Energy Sector project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead CSA designer for detailed FEED project for ADNOC, based in Reading office.
2. Management, planning, definition, production and checking/review of Civil/Structural FEED and EPC level CSA deliverables.
3. Ensuring compliance with project standards, procedures and FEED definition requirements.
4. Coordination and support to workshare (India) offices and more junior designers.
5. Support to the Lead Civil Engineer as required.
6. Ability to run CSA model reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Min HNC or equivalent.
2. Minimum 15 years' experience as a Lead Civil/Structural Designer in one or more of the following industry sectors; Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical or Civil Infrastructure.
3. Ideally experience gained in Middle-East execution with National Oil Companies.
4. Experienced in running multi-disciplinary CSA teams including workshare execution.
5. Experience of green and brownfield civil and structural works.
6. High level of proficiency in management of deliverables and CAD design, including 2D Bentley MicroStation (V8i, CE) &/or AutoCAD 2020.
7. High level of proficiency in 3D Visualization Packages, including SmartReview &/or Navisworks.
8. Knowledgeable in 3D software Packages, including Integraph Smart-3D &/or Microstation OpenRoads Designer &/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
9. Knowledgeable in PDF Review Packages, including Adobe PDF &/or BlueBeam.
10. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and IT general skills.
