The Opportunity: The Linguistics and English Language Department in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking a Research Assistant(s) on a guaranteed hours contract for a fixed term period of 12 months. This post is expected to commence in March 2025. We are recruiting Research Assistant(s) to contribute to The British Academy funded project alongside Principle Investigator Professor Lauren Hall Lew. The RA (s) will contribute to the project investigating data by speakers of Scots and English in Edinburgh who have current or previous lived experience with homelessness, or a personal and professional connection to those with lived experience with homelessness. The role shall be based within the Dugald Stewart Building. Opportunities for discussion on informal hybrid workplace arrangements can be discussed at the time of offer, however please note that some on campus working is required. Your skills and attributes for success HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant work experience; or extensive relevant work experience. Relational expertise with service users in the Scottish homelessness sector. Fluency in spoken Scots or Scottish English. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise and to work both independently and within a team with minimum supervision, and to solve problems as they arise.
