Are you a technically skilled Sales Engineer looking for work?We have an opportunity working in a busy sales team for a large manufacturing company, offering a permanent placement for this progressive company in KidderminsterThe main purpose of the role is to ensure the ongoing and continuous improvement, development and consequent growth of the company with respect to sales by maintaining good working relationships with clients and agents, investigate potential markets and customers and to ensure all incoming sales enquiries are instigated efficiently and articulately within lead times and to the satisfaction of the clientMain dutiesWin orders and maximise profit for equipment, especially that of a non-standard, bespoke project natureMake sure well presented quotes are competitive both technically and commerciallyHighlight deviations from enquiry specifications, such that Contract Review and Order Processing, along with benefits, advantages and ongoing savings possibleCarry out preliminary mechanical design of equipment, including production of initial design calculations to determine vessel thicknesses and construction details, etc. where bespoke equipment is required, thus enabling cost effective quotations to be producedEnsure quotations are prepared in a timely manner and in line with customer requirementsCalculation of accurate costings and realistic delivery lead times, where time permits, thus ensuring quotations achieve a high level of competitiveness yet maximise profitabilityRequest extensions to bid deadlines, where the requested date cannot be achievedOrganise, schedule and prioritise the submission of bids in the absence of the Sales ManagerBid clarifications and queries from clients, giving commercially and technically satisfactory responsesProduce enquiries and provide quotations for factored products associated to the rangeDeveloping a good knowledge of customers businesses, contract, markets, existing and future projectsContract reviews in accordance with in-house procedures on successful quotes/orders, resulting in a clear and detailed hand-over of contracts to the Engineering and Production departmentsThe right candidate would ideally hold:GCSE minimum grade 4/5 (or equivalent Grade C) in English and MathsHNC in Mechanical Engineering or equal/higherProven experience working within the Oil, Gas or petrochemical sectorProficient in Microsoft OfficePrevious technical experience in sales/customer service preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProfessional personal presentationReliability and focusAttention to detailAdaptableOther benefits to include:Company bonusCompany pension schemeLife insurance (death in service)23 days holiday (19 floating days, 4 fixed towards Christmas shutdown) +extra service days +Bank Holidays +Birthday Leave (after 2 full calendar years service)Training opportunitiesFree on-site parkingFree eye tests and contribution towards lenses/spectacles for VDU users, if appropriateHours of workOffice hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week.
