Headteacher – New SEN School (Wiltshire)

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Performance-Related Bonus
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional and visionary Headteacher to lead a brand-new Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Wiltshire. This is a unique chance to shape the future of the school, developing a nurturing and high-quality learning environment from the ground up.
The school will provide specialist education for children and young people with a range of SEN needs, offering a tailored and inclusive approach to support their development and wellbeing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to establish and lead a dedicated team, ensuring outstanding educational outcomes for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strong, strategic leadership to establish and develop the school, embedding a clear vision and values.
* Oversee the recruitment, development, and management of staff to create a motivated and skilled team.
* Develop and implement a high-quality, inclusive curriculum tailored to the needs of pupils with SEN.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain high standards in safeguarding, welfare, and educational quality.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, families, external agencies, and the wider community.
* Drive continuous improvement, ensuring the school delivers outstanding outcomes and experiences for pupils.
Person Specification:
* Essential:
o Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
o Significant leadership experience within an SEN setting.
o A deep understanding of the diverse needs of children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.
o A proven track record of improving educational outcomes and fostering a positive school culture.
o Strong knowledge of safeguarding and SEND legislation.
o Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
o A passion for inclusive education and commitment to supporting all learners to reach their full potential.
* Desirable:
o Experience in setting up a new school or leading substantial school improvement projects.
o NPQH or further leadership qualifications.
o Experience working with multi-agency teams and external stakeholders.
