To further strengthen our Geotechnical discipline, we are looking for a Senior Engineer to join us. You'll be working across a portfolio of projects in the rail sector, as well as the opportunity to support our projects across different locations.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. To assist in the delivery of projects in your field and support the management of risk on the project by participating in inter-discipline reviews and close out review finding
2. Assist with Contractor Responsible Engineer (CRE Design) to manage Network Rail assurance processes
3. Providing technical leadership and guidance to junior team members
4. Overseeing the production and delivery of the geotechnical calculations, drawing, specifications, and technical reports in line with the project programme
5. Checking and reviewing of reports and calculations
6. Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure integrity of the overall design solution
7. Ensuring quality, safety and environment are ensured through use of the Integrated Management System

On top of that, you’ll have:
8. An MSc in either Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering
9. Achieved Chartership status with CGeol or CEng (or equivalent)
10. Significant experience in the rail, tunnelling or infrastructure sectors, specifically earthworks, retaining structures, foundations design
11. Experience working in a railway design and build environment.
12. Previously held CRE (Design) responsibilities or keen to work towards developing experience in this area
13. Evidence of undertaking previous CRE(Discipline) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standard (NR/L2/RSE/).
14. Experience both on site and in the design office
15. Knowledge of Inter-disciplinary Checks (IDCs) or Inter-disciplinary reviews
16. Familiarity with Eurocodes
17. An understanding of risk assessment and CDM Regulations, specifically the Designer's requirements
