Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will perform routine biomedical investigations and participate in the daily scientific and technical activities of the histology laboratory. You will rotate through various specialist areas, including microtomy, embedding, and immunohistochemistry. Your role will also involve ensuring quality control, adhering to laboratory protocols, and maintaining safety standards. Additionally, you will be proficient in using laboratory computer applications and communicating effectively with staff at all levels. Your dedication and skills will contribute significantly to the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. Qualifications and Experience: • Foundation degree in Healthcare Science, Certificate of Achievement Part 2, Apprenticeship Level 4, or an equivalent scientific qualification. • Competency at a Higher Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA Band 3) level or equivalent. • Significant experience working in a histopathology or similar pathology environment. • Proficiency in histological techniques such as embedding and microtomy. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Effective interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
