We are delighted to announce that we are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Registered Veterinary Nurse to join frank. Pet Surgeons. on a full-time basis. This position involves rotation within our vibrant surgical referral hospital, primarily covering surgery, anaesthesia, wards and imaging.

Pet Surgeons., we handle a diverse range of intriguing orthopaedic cases, including cruciate disease, fractures, hip reduction/replacement, angular limb deformities, and advanced spinal and soft tissue surgeries. As part of our Specialist-led team, you will actively support all five of our surgeons, providing a unique opportunity to enhance your surgical skills and knowledge under the guidance of true experts.

Pet Surgeons is a leading and progressive veterinary clinic dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are located on the Orbital Industry Park, just off junction 4 of the M621 and 1.3 miles from Leeds train station. Our purpose built practice houses 2 fully equipped operating theatres, CT, digital radiography, arthroscopy, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring equipment, separate dog and cat wards, and in-house laboratory.

Our nursing team upholds remarkably high clinical care standards for our patients, maintaining effective communication within the hospital team and with pet owners. We are seeking a registered veterinary nurse who aligns with this ethos.
Participation in regular nurse meetings is encouraged, fostering an environment where you can contribute constructive ideas. As a confident RVN, possessing excellent communication and organisational skills, you should also have a passion for personal and professional development. While prior referral experience is beneficial, we welcome applications from nurses with a first opinion background as our Senior RVNs are dedicated to delivering top-notch training and support to the entire team.
Working hours
The existing schedule operates on a 10 week rotational basis. Shift times fall between earliest 07:00-15:00 or latest 12:00-20:00, covering a week at a time of each shift so you can find a routine and plan around work in advance. You may also be asked to cover occasional twilight shifts or night shifts in the event of annual leave or sickness within our OOH team, but this cover is shared across the whole team. Additionally, there is a weekend daytime on-call rota on a 1:10 basis, covered from home and with enhanced overtime compensation for any called-out instances. We will be happy to discuss the shift pattern in further detail on application.
