Wakefield CAMHS are seeking anexperienced and passionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to take on aleadership role within the service. The Practitioner would work specificallywith those children and young people that are in care and placed out of theWakefield district.
The successful candidate willensure that Wakefield children in care are offered the right mental healthsupport whilst not residing in the Wakefield area. This is done by meeting withthe young person and assessing their needs. The successful candidate will beattending the Complex Care Panel meeting to discuss children and young peoplethat may need assessment. At times, this role will require you to travel to seechildren and young people nationwide.
You would be responsible forworking collaboratively with out of area social care services, fosterparents/carers and other organisations.
To apply for the role, you needto have a good understanding of child development, trauma informed care, riskassessing, types of therapeutic intervention and safeguarding.
This role will also have someleadership duties within The Croft a 2 bedded therapeutic childrens home,based in Wakefield.

Main duties of the job
Liaising with out of area CAMHS.
Completing a desktop review of information orassessments already provided to consider the best intervention for the youngperson, if this did require to be commissioned (Therapeutic Needs Assessment).
Completing face to face therapeutic needsassessments.
Supporting placements to prevent placementbreakdown.
Working /liaising/ reviewing with independenttherapeutic services.
Maintain an overview of young people through ComplexCare Panel.
Consulting, liaising, and networking withIndependent Fostering Agencies- Supervising Social Workers.
Liaising and supporting with discharge planning
Supporting The Croft Childrens home.
Offering training to professionals and fostercarers.
