The role
Our client is looking for a Content Strategist to provide maternity cover within their Create chapter.
You will play a key role in planning and producing user-centred content for multiple channels to help them achieve their strategic goals.
Guided by a new content strategy, you will use insight to make sure the right content reaches the right audience at the right time, in the most effective format.
You will work with colleagues from different areas of the charity to plan and create content to support business goals, taking an insight-driven, cross-channel approach. You will help set success metrics for digital content and support content testing and iteration, ensuring continuous improvement.
Some of your time will be spent using your knowledge and expertise to work on exciting new projects in project teams ('squads') of six to nine people. The squad will be given direction on what needs to be achieved and the freedom to achieve it. You will follow Agile values and principles, and you will work collaboratively to deliver on the project's strategic objectives.
What you'll do
1. Manage the content strategy for the charity's family e-newsletters, which you will plan, write and distribute monthly.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to plan, create, review and optimise content to meet both business and user needs.
3. Lead on content strategy as part of a squad that is developing a new product, service or campaign.
4. Use your editorial skills to write, edit and proofread content, for digital and print products, when needed.
5. Collaborate with other content specialists to optimise content operations within the charity.
6. Support with the delivery of content standards training – covering style, tone of voice and accessibility guidelines.
7. Review research and data to understand how content is performing, and identify opportunities for innovation.
What you'll need
1. Experience of developing and executing content strategies to achieve business goals, taking a user-centred, insight-driven approach.
2. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and consistency in tone and style.
3. Experience of following content design principles: using research and data to identify user needs and designing content to meet them.
4. Experience of using content management systems, email marketing platforms and digital analytics tools.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
6. Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of Agile values and principles.
7. A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position).
