Position Title: Environmental Services Manager
Location: New London Recreation Center - New London, Connecticut
Type: Part Time Plus (30-39 hours per week) and Includes Full Benefits *Start Date June 2025

The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the Environmental Services Associates in maintaining the upkeep of the facility with consistent standards of order, cleanliness and safety throughout the facility. The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of the facility as it relates to facility appearance and ensuring fully stocked amenities and locker room supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Exercise discretion and independent judgement in providing leadership and supervision to the supervisors, coordinators and associates in the environmental services department.
2. Actively contribute to the safety committee responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness and OSHA training for all center employees according to the center safety manual, safety training compliance for all center employees and conducting facility safety audits, drills, and mock codes.
3. Assist Center Director with coordinating service appointments for facility PM’s and repairs.
4. Respond to member feedback with a high level of professionalism, demonstrate and provide customer service standards for all associates, and intervene with service recovery if conflicts and/or issues occur.
5. Assist Center Director with daily center operations and provide leadership in the absence of the Center Director.
6. Have complete knowledge and operation of equipment in the laundry room and housekeeping department.
7. Be responsible for ensuring that adequate inventory is ordered and on-hand for locker room, laundry and cleaning supplies.
8. The ability to lift wet linens and cleaning supplies up to 25 lbs.
9. Provide leadership and center oversight for day-to-day operations across all departments as it relates to member, employee or facility-related issues that might arise.
10. Encourage employee professional growth through training, supervision, empowerment, continuous performance management and feedback.
11. Provide regular feedback, write and conduct interim and annual performance reviews.
12. Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings.
13. Participate in management meetings and all-team meetings.
14. Assist with department work schedules and time cards.
15. Responsible for hiring and training all Environmental Services associates.
16. Have the ability to perform all the duties outlined in the Environmental Services job descriptions as needed.
17. Assist with development of department operating and capital budgets annually.
18. Work Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
19. Maintain friendly, well trained and customer service oriented staff, and inter-department relationships.
20. Be proficient in all core business software as it relates to job duties and responsibilities.
21. Work towards meeting departmental and organizational goals.
22. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours, work schedules and scheduling appointments for prospects and members.
23. Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
24. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures including the use of facility paging system and confidence in calling and communicating with EMS.
25. Participate in Company's HIPAA and related training.
26. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and work related relationships with all persons at the center including but not limited to members, guests and employees as provided in the Employee Handbook at the time of hire.

28. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
•High School diploma or GED required.
•Bachelor’s and/or Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
•Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required.
•Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training required.
•Certified in Pool Operations (CPO) preferred.
•CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
•Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
•Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor with a high level of organizational skills and efficiency.
•Proficient computer skills.
