Job Description
A new and exciting opportunity has been developed to lead and support the strategic work around Psychological Trauma-Informed practice and services across East Ayrshire. This post sits within the Wellbeing and Recovery Service of the EAHSCP but has a wider multi-agency focus and will contribute significantly to the East Ayrshire Trauma Advisory Board Delivery Plan, working closely with community planning partners and the Trauma Advisory Board chairperson. East Ayrshire has strong ambition to have a truly trauma-informed workforce across all sectors and high quality trauma responsive services. This work also contributes to East Ayrshire Wellbeing Delivery Plan as we work in partnership with other key agencies to embed a whole system approach to psychological trauma. The post will have a key focus on supporting and monitoring the delivery plan, leading on specific working groups and projects, strengthening our multi-agency partnerships across Ayrshire, supporting the learning & development agenda and working closely with national partners. The post-holder will work closely with other specialist protection lead officers, learning & development specialists and a range support staff to drive our ambitious agenda forwards across East Ayrshire.
Requirements
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Responsibilities
We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer. It is also a requirement that the reference from your current or most recent employer is from an appropriate senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.
The Individual
This is a full time temporary post based within Children's Health Care and Justice.
Hours of work - Mon-Thu 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-4pm
This post is temporary until 31 March 2027.
The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50% -79% of your time in an office location/ multiple work locations.
You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home.
The admin base for this post is The Johnnie Walker Bond, Kilmarnock.
It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations.
