Your role and responsibilities As a young persons worker, you will: be meeting young people face to face and finding out what their barriers are to attending Education Training or Employment maintain accurate records and data and provide reports through our electronic systems be linking in with your team and with organisations in the community who can support young people reach their potential be undertaking direct work Year 11 and 12 liaising with schools’ colleges and training providers. Many of the young people you will support may face significant barriers, they may have additional needs carry out bespoke work for young people who may have support from a social worker develop and support post-16 opportunities for young people in Ipswich, actively engaging with diverse communities, empowering them to share their experiences and ensuring their voices are heard. You will need be collaborative and passionate, with the knowledge and skills of supporting young people’s holistic needs a willingness to learn and grow even if you don't have all the technical expertise yet. Transferable skills from other roles can be key to this role a fresh approach to working with all people regardless of their lived experience and to provide an honest, non-judgemental approach.
