We’re looking for a Regional Head of SHE to provide expert leadership across five sites in the North, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental sustainability.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape and execute regional SHE strategy, develop high-performing SHE teams, and ensure the effective implementation of our OSHE Management System.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Strategic Leadership – Develop and drive the regional SHE improvement strategy, aligning with business and site-level objectives.
2. Multi-Site Oversight – Provide expert guidance to 5 sites and their SHE managers, ensuring legal compliance, risk mitigation, and best practice implementation.
3. Continuous Improvement – Lead initiatives to optimise safety performance, enhance environmental sustainability, and reduce workplace hazards.
4. Performance & Compliance – Oversee SHE performance using key metrics (BMI), ensuring sites are audit-ready and meeting all regulatory requirements.
5. Coaching & Capability Building – Develop and mentor site SHE teams, embedding a strong safety culture across the region.
6. Stakeholder Engagement – Work cross-functionally with site leadership teams and key business stakeholders to drive SHE priorities.
7. Incident & Risk Management – Support sites with high-quality incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of proactive risk controls.
8. Audit & Reporting – Manage external audits (VAMP, SMETA, Insurance), ensure statutory reporting compliance, and uphold SHE governance frameworks.
9. Innovation & Best Practice – Lead SHE campaigns, implement group SHE initiatives, and drive consistency in SHE management systems.
Who We’re Looking For
1. Qualifications – Minimum Level 6 SHE qualification (ideally Level 7 degree).
2. Experience – At least nine years' experience in SHE roles, including senior leadership within FMCG.
3. Leadership & Influence – Proven track record in driving SHE culture and performance across multiple sites.
4. Technical Expertise – Strong understanding of SHE legislation, risk management, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
5. Collaboration & Communication – Ability to work cross-functionally at pace, engaging stakeholders at all levels.
6. Audit & Compliance Knowledge – Experience managing external audits and regulatory reporting.
7. Mobility – Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across five Northern UK sites.
