Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management principles and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, budgets, cashflows and forecasts.
2. Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
3. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
4. Manage financial accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
5. Utilise accounting software such as Construction Manager or Sage for efficient financial management.
6. Mentor junior staff members in accounting practices and software usage.
7. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business objectives.
8. Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors as required.
Skills
1. Proficiency in accounting software including Construction Manager and Sage.
2. Strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
3. Experience in accounts payable processes and financial services.
4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
5. Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
6. Proven mentoring skills to guide and develop junior team members.
7. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all work produced.
