This role would suit an experienced environmental or energy engineer seeking to make a tangible impact on decarbonisation strategy and emissions management, while contributing to technically complex and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take the lead in managing the Energy Management portfolio, including ISO 50001, ESOS compliance, and related energy reduction initiatives.
2. Provide technical input and mentor junior engineers across energy and emissions scopes.
3. Contribute to the identification and assessment of decarbonisation opportunities such as methane reduction, flare management, and integration of renewable energy solutions.
4. Support delivery of UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) compliance activities.
5. Liaise with clients to ensure delivery aligns with scope, timeline, and budget expectations.
6. Review engineering design documents in the context of environmental impacts and emissions management.
7. Plan and facilitate energy and emissions workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
1. Degree qualified in an environmental, engineering, or relevant scientific discipline.
2. Experience in a similar role, ideally with a background in consulting or project delivery.
3. Working knowledge of ESOS; Lead Assessor accreditation is advantageous.
4. Familiarity with international best practices in emissions reduction and reporting (e.g., OGMP 2.0, ERAPs).
5. Knowledge of UK/EU Emissions Trading Scheme and associated compliance activities.
6. Understanding of pollution control and mitigation techniques is preferred.
7. Experience in energy, renewables, or oil and gas sectors is beneficial, but not essential.
8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
