Job summary Full-time role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Improvement Manager within the Healthy Hospitals Programme of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. The Health Improvement Manager is an essential role to the success of the Healthy Hospitals Programme, in particularity the QUIT element of the Programme. QUIT is a smoking cessation initiative aimed at supporting patients admitted to hospital who smoke, to help them to stop with the appropriate treatment and support from our team. We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic candidates that are comfortable with operational management of a busy service. The role is dynamic in the support of our inpatient, outpatient and staff services. The role will suit someone who can manage a team, and has good interpersonal skills, to build relationships with our clinical teams across the hospital. The role will suit someone who is comfortable leading a team, taking ownership and pride in management of a service. There is opportunity to develop and grow the service further and put the individual's own stamp on the direction of travel. The post holder will work closely with the Trust's Consultant in Public Health and the Healthy Hospital Programme Manager. Main duties of the job To lead the operational management of the QUIT programme with support from the Healthy Hospital Programme Manager. You will be patient facing and directly line manage the Tobacco Treatment Advisors. You will advise the Trust on appropriate measures to reduce harm from tobacco and support smoke free sites; developing and managing the Tobacco Harm Reduction Service within the Trust; providing tobacco dependency interventions and advice to patients, staff and in some instances relatives/carers of patients; and supporting the training of Trust staff. The post holder will also contribute to the wider role of the team in the promotion, development, monitoring and evaluation of QUIT programme. As the wider Healthy Hospital Programme develops the remit of the role will broaden out.
