We are not your average workplace. Geowynd is seeking a Geotechnician. The successful candidate will be a team member at Geowynd and will be focused on providing the highest quality, high value data for interpretation by our clients and engineering teams. The Geotechnician role will be focused on laboratory testing activities, but duties will include calibration of equipment, and supporting the accreditation process, including being audited by external assessors. What you will do: Performing laboratory testing, including classification, index strength and total stress shear tests; Preparing samples for testing, ensuring samples are available to promote efficient progression of test programs; Ensuring test programming and tracking software is updated to allow accurate testing progress updates to be provided to clients; Performing daily equipment & environmental quality checks throughout the laboratory, informing senior personnel where anything out of the ordinary or out of specification is found; Performing routine equipment calibrations and checks, whether planned or as requested; Taking an active role during accreditation assessments and performing verification tests when required to do so; Ensuring a high level of cleanliness throughout the laboratory facility, and ensuring the equipment is maintained to the highest standard; Complying with Geowynd management system policies, practices, programs, and procedures; Supporting Geowynd’s environmental and social goals. Who you are: The ability to operate within a team; An aptitude for mechanical testing; An eye for detail, and the ability to follow written procedures. Desirable: A keen interest in geotechnical laboratory testing; Prior experience of working within a laboratory environment. Salary for this position: Up to £30,000 per annum Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades.
