We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our Gastro Specialist Nurse Team with a pure focus on supporting the IBD Specialist Nurses who form an integral part of the wider Gastroenterology clinical team (Gastroenterologists) to ensure high quality care is provided across our service. You will be a key member of the IBD Team acting as facilitator to enable the critical involvement with patients, by the CNSs, dealing directly with non-clinical enquiries (via a patient helpline or via My Medical Records (MyMR) electronic platform).
Within this role as the Specialty Coordinator you will provide administrative and secretarial support to the process bookings, referrals, collate reports, audits etc and develop with the service.
A key part of the job role will also involve maintaining a Biologics database to ensure a smooth-management of new starters on drugs, as well as repeat prescriptions in order for the CNSs or Consultant to prescribe.
You will also manage the co-ordination of the IBD MDT which requires legal logging of the clinical outcomes, this task is particularly supported by the Lead IBD Consultant/CNS where appropriate, along with the booking of appointments & undertaking a range of administrative tasks generated by the IBD service.
