About the Role Transport Operations secures all home to school transport provision for students with special educational needs as well as transport to day care services for adults. We’re looking for a Driver to join our team. Driving a specially adapted large vehicles, you’ll be working within a team on a split shift system with a morning shift starting at around 7.00 am then returning for an afternoon shift from about 2.00 pm each weekday. You will be responsible for transporting adults and children to day care, respite placements and schools in Warwickshire which will include helping passengers, some of whom may have physical and learning disabilities, on and off the bus, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation; maintaining the vehicle records as well ensuring the bus is clean and tidy after each use. Although based at our Warwick depot, you will be expected to support the wider team as required as well as support with Passenger Assistant tasks. A full package of training will be provided to support you in the role should you be successful. Key Requirements To be successful in this role it’s important you enjoy driving; hold a clean Driving Licence with Category D1 and are available to work shifts in the early mornings and afternoons. With good communication and customer care skills, you'll enjoy meeting and assisting people of various ages and disabilities providing a courteous and sensitive service. With the ability to work on your own initiative; flexible in your approach, helping the wider team as necessary; you’ll be used to handling confidential information with tact and discretion. It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and experience of working with young and elderly people who are disabled.
