Is familiar with the required brand standards for the hotel. The role of the housekeeping assistant is a manual job. This job description sets out the current duties of the job that may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the job role or the level of responsibility entailed. MAIN DUTIES. Report for duty at the agreed time in the approved uniform. Understands the hotel procedure for reporting sickness and absenteeism. Sing out keys and at the end of your shift ensure keys are returned and signed for. Under no circumstances should hotel keys leave the hotel. In the event of a key is lost or missing report it immediately. Do not lend your keys to anyone or open doors if requested. Complies with all training on manual handling and COSHH. Complies with fire training. Use PPE as supplied. Checks vacuum cleaner before commencing cleaning to ensure it is fit for use. Reports any accidents, near misses or anything that has the potential to cause an accident. Follows the agreed procedure for linen and towel selection and rejects according to the hotel policy. When working in hotel rooms adhere to the hotel’s policy to protect themselves and the guest belongings. When making the bed follows the hotels policy on health and safety. Systematically commencing at the door dust from high to low. Removes and disposes of rubbish. Lost Property procedure is followed for all items found in the hotel both front and back of house. Clean bathroom including, shower and surrounding tiles, bath and surrounding tiles, wash hand basin, vanity unit, toilet, and surrounding tiles. Using the prescribed chemicals and colour coded cloths. Replenish towelling and guest supplies. Wash bathroom floor. Report maintenance to the supervisor or housekeeper. When going on a break or in the event of a fire evacuation places the trolley and vacuum cleaner in the nearest vacant room. Perform related duties and any special projects which may be assigned by the Head Housekeeper or Supervisor in charge.
