An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data and MIS Manager to join a thriving team who provide assistance and support to the school’s Senior Leadership Team.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
* To produce, analyse and communicate a range of statistical data concerning pupil progress to support and inform staff.
* To manage and develop MIS (Bromcom), providing staff training and literature specific to the school’s use of Bromcom.
Key Accountabilities
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS - DATABASE USAGE
* To provide accurate and informative assessment data for senior leadership team and classroom teachers.
* To download, analyse and disseminate examination results as required.
* To create and maintain a range of data sets and statistics, producing analysis for a variety of recipients as required.
* To be able to manipulate data using Excel.
* To devise the assessment calendar for each academic year.
* To ensure data is collected efficiently from teaching staff.
* To administer Bromcom assessment, set up aspects and maintain templates and mark sheets for staff to enter data.
* Create & update templates for student reports, run and check reports to upload to MyChildatSchool (MCAS) and notify parents.
* Run off individual progress reports for each student and provide information on student progress to staff. Set up display to show students with highest average progress.
* To design, prepare and present reports and statistical analysis for internal comparisons and external returns e.g. Exam, Ks3 & cat results and termly reports liaising with staff.
* To maintain SISRA so that it operates effectively, ensuring data and other information is accurate and up to date.
* Ensure relevant staff have access to SISRA, so that they have accurate information regarding the progress of their students, providing advice and training as required.
MIS DUTIES (BROMCOM)
* To provide support to the Heads of Year on the behaviour management procedures and records, accomplishments, certificates and associated reports.
* Prepare and produce standard and adhoc Bromcom reports where necessary.
* In conjunction with Hamwic, manage system permissions, issuing passwords and ensuring all staff have correct access to the information management system.
* Co-ordination and completion of the school census and other statistical government returns.
* Develop and review the use of Bromcom Assessment Manager and Behaviour Modules and support staff in their day to day use of the system.
* Provide staff training and literature specific to the school’s use of Bromcom.
* Explore and develop other software applications to facilitate school operations including MCAS (MyChildAtSchool), Options and Timetabling.
* Support and improve the use of Bromcom by staff generally.
* Liaise with designated SLT member responsible for examinations, curriculum and assessment.
* To be responsible for adding new students to Bromcom, including the creation of new personalised timetables.
* In conjunction with the IT Manager, maintain and update the information available to parents via MCAS (MyChildAtSchool).
* To process students option choices within the options module. Source software (if required) and ensure option book reflects correct course, board and exam information.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
* To provide general administrative support within the school.
* To produce individual student reports for parents’ evenings.
* To produce lesson point and behaviour point information.
* Producing cover and absence statistics.
* To collect, analyse and distribute student data collected from other sources, and to complete returns to the Local Authority and the DfE as required.
ICT/SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT
* Liaise with system experts to maintain develop and upgrade system software, ensuring effective outputs, which meet the needs of the college, set up all new users and allocate access rights.
* Train new users, acting as point of contact for day-to-day queries, provide user support.
* Carry out year-end procedures on our MIS.
SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL
* At an appropriate level, according to the job role, grade and training received, all employees in the school are expected to support the aims, values, mission and ethos of the school and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life.
* Attend and contribute to staff meetings and INSET days as required, and identify areas of personal practice and experience to develop.
* Take appropriate responsibility for safeguarding and children’s welfare and be aware of confidential issues linked to home/child/teacher/school and keep confidences appropriately.
* Be aware of health and safety issues and act in accordance with the school’s Health and Safety Policy.
OTHER DUTIES
* The postholder may be expected to carry out duties other than those given in the job description where the level of responsibility is similar and he/she has appropriate qualifications or receives appropriate training to carry out these duties.
* The postholder must ensure that trust policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
* Work as appropriate with the Trust Central Services team in matters relating to finance, HR, IT and Health and Safety.
