Job descriptionThe Role The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for the end to end technical delivery across vendors and three internal development teams delivering a solution which meets the broad customer objectives.The role holder is responsible for the high quality output and development of detailed plans ensuring that technical changes are delivered to time and cost budgets.Key Interfaces Internal: - Financial accountant; for preparation and submission of budgets and forecasts; - Technology and Data Governance for escalation, presentation of recommendation of solutions to priority conflicts and bottlenecks;- Data & Analytics Senior Product Manager, for handover of production services and discussion regarding future enhancements; - Data Governance and Architecture - to ensure that the development and implementation of new services have been built in alignment with Data & Analytics strategic framework and design principles and that internal development work to support data quality initiatives are planned into the development workstream.Knowledge - Detailed knowledge of BI/Warehousing development technologies and methodologies, in particular agile scrum (essential);- Recognised project and programme methodologies (such as PRINCE or PMM), and general ITIL service management principles and their practical application within a Business Intelligence ad/or Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) warehouse environment;- Knowledge of star schema and design, understanding of Kimball and Inmon data warehousing design (desirable);- Knowledge and interest in the latest and emerging technologies likely to be employed in designing and delivering Enterprise Wide quality solutions in the chosen platform (desirable)Skills - Ability to manage multiple small development teams and whole lifecycle outputs of complex data and analytics projects, including but not limited to; the software/application itself, release documentation, operational documentation, training documentation, and design documentation (essential)- Proven ability to build effective working relations with people at all levels across the organisation and outside, ensuring delivery matches needs of projects (essential)- Ability to manage project portfolio issues and risks, ensuring reasoned and balanced go/no-go decision making- Ability to manage project outputs ensuring an appropriate balance of delivery schedule/costs with quality (essential)- Managing effectively with ambiguity across multiple vendors and projects, e.g. an interlocked plan (essential)Experience - Experience of detailed release planning and technical delivery of data and analytics services through whole systems development lifecycle- Ability to influence people at all levels across the organisation and outside, including negotiating and successfully facilitating joint decision making- Ability to lead technical delivery across portfolio of complex, multi-vendor systems development projects- Strong history and track record in prioritising and delivering data and analytics development outputs to schedule and cost
