The Orchard Schoolis seeking a dedicatedDeputy Pupil Support Leadwho will work alongside the Pupil Support Lead to embed Relational Therapeutic Behaviour and Therapeutic Thinking across the school. This is a unique opportunity to apply functional analysis of behaviour, restorative approaches, and non-punitive strategies to support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving sustainable positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Holistic Pupil Support:Conduct functional analyses of behaviour to uncover underlying causes of dysregulation, then develop and implement individually tailored therapeutic interventions.
* Staff Development:Train, coach, and mentor staff in relational, therapeutic, and function-informed practices, ensuring all interventions align with the school’s inclusive and restorative ethos.
* Data-Driven Improvement:Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions, using data and functional analysis to refine approaches and strengthen our Positive Behaviour Policy.
* Collaborative Working:Foster strong partnerships with parents/carers, external agencies, and the wider community, building a network of support that meets pupils’ holistic needs.
* Safeguarding and Wellbeing:Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring that therapeutic and function-informed strategies always prioritise pupil welfare.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with young people who present challenging or dysregulated behaviour and an understanding of how to implement restorative and therapeutic strategies.
* Knowledge or experience in conducting functional analysis of behaviour, using these insights to inform interventions and practice.
* A proven ability to lead, inspire, and support colleagues, fostering a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
* Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to inclusivity, safeguarding, and the wellbeing of all pupils.
