Mechanical Project Manager
£80,000 + Travel and benefits.
Are you a Mechanical Project Manager looking to become an M&E Manager (Mechanical) with experience in a new build or fit out of healthcare, lab, or research environment, looking to make the step from subcontracting into a main contractor environment? Then this is the role that puts you at the centre of working with a main contractor on a large laboratory project in Surrey.
The company:
1. A well-established main contractor working mostly within the laboratories, health care, and research environment has won a £60m M&E project over the next two years.
2. The company is based in South West London, but the pipeline of work is in Surrey and London.
3. The company is industry-recognised and is working on some of London's most complex laboratories, hospitals, and research centres.
Key Responsibilities:
1. The Mechanical Project Manager will manage the mechanical subcontractor to make sure that the project is running to programme, while coordinating with the build team.
2. The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the quality of the project's work through its construction cycle through to handover - from a paperwork and walking the site perspective.
3. The Mechanical Project Manager must be able to liaise with subcontractors on site to ensure that the project is meeting the deadlines and quality control.
Skills and Background:
1. You will be reporting to a lead M&E Manager who is electrical and will be happy to help and manage the wider M&E team if the Mechanical Project Manager has not worked in this role before.
2. The Mechanical Project Manager should have a Mechanical background and experience working with large mechanical packages valued between £5-10 million.
3. The Mechanical Project Manager must have completed a healthcare, life sciences, or laboratory project within the last 3-5 years.
4. The Mechanical Project Manager must be happy to take responsibility for their workload and assist others when necessary.
5. The Mechanical Project Manager must demonstrate the ability to work with and understand diverse teams.
