We are working with a leading Engineering Business in their search for an additional Mechanical Design Engineer. If you relish working in a close-knit R&D team developing novel machines, this is an opportunity not to be missed. This is an independent company with a reputation for technical excellence. Their machines are used in multiple industries globally and very few projects are the same. This will be a real chance to show your technical abilities.
Core duties include:
1. Use 3D and 2D CAD design tools to produce individual drawings and drawing packs, on time, for use in the procurement of parts and assembly of machines.
2. Produce drawings to BS8888 and other company quality standards.
3. Undertake mechanical calculations to substantiate and prove design concepts and drawings.
4. Select likely suppliers and justify their selection against price, delivery, and quality criteria.
5. Produce cost estimates for parts and assemblies.
6. Produce bills of materials for use in procuring parts and purchase parts as necessary within Company guidelines.
7. Produce project documentation and maintain a technical project file.
8. Communicate with both external and internal customers to ensure design solutions are understood.
9. Implement, as necessary, design solutions through build, integrating, and testing.
As a hands-on Mechanical Engineer, you will design and develop groundbreaking machines in your project team. The business uses SolidWorks predominantly and is open to applicants with experience of other design packages. They operate a 37.5 hour working week with flexibility over start and finish times. This requirement is urgent and applications will be reviewed at speed. Apply today for immediate consideration!
