We have an exciting opportunity for a Working Supervisor to join our logistics team within Vistry Works East Midlands, at our Bardon office. As our working supervisor, you will have a hands-on role supervising a logistics team within a specific area in a timber frame manufacturing facility. You will drive and maintain the highest level of safety, environmental and service standards within your team and across the factory.

A current Counterbalance Forklift truck licence (RTITB or ITSAR)
You will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the timber frame or housebuilding industry
You will have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety and the requisite processes and procedures, with the safety and wellbeing of our people being our key priority
You will need to have excellent leadership and communication skills, being able to motivate and train logistics staff to achieve deadlines and service standards
The ability to identify, communicate and implement opportunities for continuously improving working methods.
A strong general awareness of Health & Safety, manufacturing, production, transportation, construction, and on-site installationDesirable…
Minimum educational qualifications of GCSE Maths and English
A current Combilift Forklift truck licence (RTITB or ITSAR)

You will be responsible for competently supervising a specific area of the logistics process, ensuring service quality and productivity is maintained at the agreed set levels.
You will ensure all safety and environmental policies are adhered to and applied consistently, including carrying out various checks and recording all data associated with them.
You will understand and observe health and safety rules and be aware of the safety of self and others to promote a safe working environment and culture.
You will develop and train team members to carry out tasks in their own area of expertise and be involved in their assessment by providing feedback, to build flexible teams and drive a high-performance culture.
You will work alongside other working supervisors to ensure resource is effectively managed on a day-to-day basis so that both production and logistics KPI's are delivered.
