As the Senior Director, Head of IT Business Partnering – Procurement & Merck Business Services, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data, digital and IT solutions to transform the way our procurement and business services functions work. In this role, you will directly report to CIO Enabling Functions and will also play a critical role on the Data Digital & IT Enabling Functions Leadership Team, helping drive the future shape and strategy of the DDIT EF organization. At Merck, the Data Digital & IT Enabling Functions organization is responsible for being the technology partner for digital transformation of the Enabling Functions, including Finance, Procurement, Merck Business Services (GBS), Human Resources, Group Communications and other core functions. As part of the DDIT EF organization, in your role as the Head of IT Business Partnering – Procurement & Merck Business Services, you will lead all aspects of the data digital and IT strategy and execution for the Procurement and Merck Business Services organization. The Global Procurement organization at Merck is led by the Chief Procurement Officer and has strategic imperatives that include ensuring a robust and resilient supply chain that embeds sustainability, creating a fit-for-purpose ecosystem of external partners and adopting automated e2e processes with superior user experience. The Merck Business Services (MBS) organization is led by Head of MBS. MBS is Merck’s internal service provider that delivers Employee, Finance and Buy & Pay Services. As the lead IT business partner to these two core functions, you will:Lead and manage a global team of 20-25 FTE Create, improve and deliver a Data Digital and IT strategy and roadmap for Global Procurement and Business Services functionsPerform Demand Management incl. Prioritization for IT Project Portfolio Management for approx. 45 projects and ~10 MEUR per yearManage portfolio budget for Data Digital and IT demands of the Global Procurement and Business Services functionsEnsure new industry technology and processes are incorporated into the systems and reporting landscapeLead all technical evaluations of potential changes to any key platforms in these functionsOther responsibilities include Capacity planning, Business Capability Mapping, Change Management, Service Reviews, Technology Advisory, Compliance, Audit and Risk management. Essential Skills & Experience:Bachelor's Degree, Advanced degree (such as an MBA, MS)Significant experience leading Procurement technology function Knowledge of Buy & Pay processes, Direct and Indirect Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, e-Invoicing, contract management, self-service procurement, Procurement data ontologyExperience in digital transformation of Global Business Services organization, processes with exposure to Employee and Finance ServicesStrong Program design and implementation credibilityDemonstrated people management and business partnership skillsTechnical knowledge of SAP ERP, digital solutions such as OpenText VIM, ARIBA, Service Now, UiPath, DocuSign or the likesStrong communication, cross functional collaboration and influencing skillsAbility to leverage a range of influencing techniquesAbility to work in highly complex and structured environmentExperience in Pharmaceutical industry preferredGXP experience also highly preferredKnowledge of German language is advantageousTravel: Regular travel (~20-25%) to headquarters in Germany is required to collaborate with teams and stakeholders
