We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Kirton team in the position of Assistant Works Engineer.
The role holder will assist the Works Engineer in carrying out all Health and Safety, Compliance, and Maintenance matters according to the works requirements.
Your duties would include but are not limited to the following:
1. Planning, organising, and documentation of site-related Health and Safety Compliance matters.
2. Assist with carrying out and reviewing Risk Assessments and SOPs.
3. Developing the Pirana system to the site's needs.
4. Placing orders for remedial repairs and some critical spares.
5. Control of Contractors to include receiving RAMS, carrying out site inductions, issuing Permits to Work, signing in/signing out, and documentation.
6. Ensure all Compliance documentation is kept up to date and ready for auditing.
7. To oversee maintenance and construction schedules, including Plant Preventative Maintenance Schedules as detailed by the Works Engineer.
8. To plan and supervise the work of engineering staff.
9. To ensure that staff under his control are trained to an acceptable level of competence and qualified to carry out their work.
10. Organise training requirements for the Maintenance Department and keep records up to date.
11. To be responsible for the motivation and discipline of engineering staff within the Company's rules and Terms and Conditions of Employment.
12. To deputise for the Works Engineer in his absence.
13. In addition to these functions, the role holder will be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
About You:
1. A minimum of a Mechanical or Electrical City and Guilds / ONC qualification.
2. H & S Qualification to NEBOSH preferred but not essential.
3. Project Management / Continuous Improvement experience.
4. Supervisory/Managerial experience.
