We need passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at an acute hospital in the South East England, to assist and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment and care in complex situations.
Description:
As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will be to;
1. Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency and learning;
2. Effectively running the shift and attending regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans;
3. Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns;
4. Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitoring side effects;
5. Accurately recording patient information and communicating with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs.
6. Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student Nurses in order to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment.
7. Performing administrative duties. Involved in the screening, assessment and follow up support of patients.
8. Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider Multidisciplinary team.
Skills:
9. Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role
10. Child and Adult safe guarding procedures.
11. Change management, organising and prioritising workloads
12. Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge
13. Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group
14. Demonstrates ability to assess and manage clinical risk
